Not your grandmothers silver- Christmas Ornaments

While going to art school, my instructor said, not every day will be for creating master pieces- on these days is when you stretch and prime canvas, run errands sharpen pencils and do your framing. And when you return to your canvas- you will be renewed, and perhaps then, magic can happen. After doing a bunch of left brain stuff today- mailing packages, dealing with automated payment systems, making client calls, and writing up invoices I felt like letting off a little steam. How better to clear the mind, than pounding the heck out of some silverware and creating some funky chic Christmas ornaments. I gathered the silver plated flatware last spring at a garage sale for this purpose. Bending the tines of a fork into fun shapes and then hammering them to a flattened artistic shape, folding the handle over becomes the hook, finished with a little wire wrap and embellishments and tie with a satin ribbon - and its ready to hang. I made four today, but I think there are more to come. I named each one just for fun because they kind of have a personality of their own with the ornate handle, shape of tines and embellishments.
$15 each
