Window unto the world

Habit can be a good or a dreadful thing depending on what you have allowed your habits to be. Some come by default or negligence but these simple routines we develop become something that determines the outcome of our day and over time our lives.
Today for instance, like many others, goes like this.... I get up to the sound of the dogs barking, take them potty, tidy the living room and kitchen, pour a bowl of cereal or coffee and lift the cover on my laptop as if opening a window to the world. Here I can write friends, eves drop on face book conversations between people I don't even know, read a book, laugh at u-tube, check the weather, and even look at real time views of a bird in the San Diego Zoo. I enjoy my computer time as much as the next person, sometimes I'm on for 15 minutes other days as much as five hours- it is how I relax after work or household responsibilities. The balance is to understand that there is more to life. What ever your computer crutch is, it cant be better than having breakfast friends, filling the bird feeder, or taking a drive or better yet going on a walk. I doubt when God created us he intended us to look at a screen instead of through it.
Breathe in the fresh air-
it will make all the difference in your day.
