WHY READ

Writing to me is like painting, unless inspired, there is no need. All things should have a purpose. My purpose in this blog is to provide a moment of escape for the reader and consequently -myself, lend new insight or bring a smile.
These observations, insights, quips, and reflections serve as a way of cleansing the spirit and making room for improvement. Through my writing and my art I learn more about myself which serves as a tool to emerge from the cocoon, I once was in. Enjoy.

During a wine tasting I was mesmorzed by the shapes and softness of color - I later recreated this image in the studio. To me these paintings capture a moment in time far better than any photograph.

Commission- Portrait of the Soul- SOLD . This piece began when the client requested I do a portrait as a gift for her husband. It was not just a likeness she wanted, but rather a piece that embodied the essence of who she is and the path taken to get to hat point. Many influences played a part in this process including the love of her children, music, and new husband. Readings from her favorite writer gave her permission to reinvent her life and blossom into the strong unwavering individual pictured.

This is a small resteraunt in Progresso where the light just pours in and around its patrons. The door is propped open allowing the breese to flow through the space and the occaisional pigeon looking for handouts.

Genre pieces are one of my favorite things to paint , where everyday life is elevated to the beauty in which it is to be enjoyed. This is a common site in the streets of progresso- where small shops are set up in a warehouse style environment.
