One afternoon as people started to arrive for the matine at the theater next door this child pulled from her mothers hand and rushed to my window and started poking the glass with delight. " Look , pretty" this child of three would say. She proceeded to laugh and make faces at the painting in the window mimicking each of the four masked faces. Teeth bared in one, a scowl , a wide eyed smile followed my a look of wonder as she continued to study the other faces in the series.
I had done this series of tiki inspired masks when I first opened the shop for a gentleman in Califoria who was passing through.
