Electric Blue

Have you ever considered the non verbal message you send to others, about who you are can be summed up by a simple color. Recently I purchased a locally made, simple unfinished bench to be placed outside my studio. I had envisioned painting it with bold designs but I didn't have a design in mind as of yet, so start simply with a base color was the approach that adopted. What I ended up with was not a simple colored bench, but rather a statement, when I choose the complimentary color to that of the stucco front of the gallery. I could have opted for a deeper, more subtile color of blue, more of a Martha Stewart color scheme but that just isn't me. Neither is it in my nature to invest unnecessary hours of sanding and priming,a one coat approach is definitely the way to go. After a brief consult at the lumber yard the type of paint needed for the quick fix I needed to make a humble bench scream," Welcome! There is something new and different here, come on in."
