FEAR
Where am I , as a walk this rocky
ground.
Not sure where to put my next step
The earth crumbles beneath meGrabbing at the roots as I fall
They mock me on the way
breaking one by one
Fingers lodged between the cracks
The crevasse will not claim my spirit
Emerging from the depths
The warm desert breeze
chaps my lips
The search for water begins
Turning around to see
where I have been
I see a child looking back at me
who is far older than I
I run for her but she disappears in my
embrace
there is darkness all around
like syrup it fills the place
where joy should be
Looking into the distance
behind a door, a blue light emanates
The darkness falls away
as each step becomes easier
I can breathe......
the door is opened
I enter with caution, remaining in the
threshold
the beauty of the garden is yet to be
revealed
It is there I linger
