Many years ago while sitting in the choir loft one Sunday morning, like countless other times before, I reached for the tiny little pencil placed in the back of the pew. The prayer concerns card was also handy, so I grabbed it as well to sketch some detail that caught my eye. I don't remember now, almost twenty years later what I was drawing, maybe it was a sleeping child in the front row pew or the preacher with outstretched arms spreading the light, but, what I do remember is the response to my action. Now, one would think quietly going about ones business- would not be cause for being called out, well, you would think that anyway. Not so, about half way through my little sketch, an older lady in the alto section turned around with a stern glare screeched in a high pitch, "Scritch, Scritch, Scritch- that's all you do!"
This sketch was for a recent project
