Back to the Drawing Board
This is one of the pieces from the life drawing sessions. There is no substitute for drawing from life whether it be a landscape or a portrait. So much is wrapped up in the experience of processing the informaiton in the brain, your senses are attuned to the environment as you smell the coffee brew in the local dinner, hear the crash of plates in the kitchen or the breeze in your hair as you sit on the shoreline sketching children play in the sand. Reference photos serve thier purpose, quick sketches are better, I personally do both when given a chance. But like studying for a test I tend to look at them , put them down, close my eyes and go from there creating more from the minds eye.
